Helps You Save Money
By Jeanette Joy Fisher
Prepare your home for sale
without wasting your money on improvements that won't
pay you back.
Spend money only on items that
will make a difference in your sales price. Of all
repairs, fresh paint is the best investment you can
make. New kitchen appliances, upgraded bathroom
features, and updated lighting fixtures will usually
give a good return for your money, as well.
However, sometimes you want to
sell without delay and you don't want to charge up
your credit cards to invest in new appliances. Take a
look at this home we staged without spending a lot of
money on improvements.

We didn't add a dishwasher or
do any remodeling. However, we put in a new stove and
ceiling fan, removed old linoleum flooring, added a
stencil to the wood floor found underneath, and
painted the kitchen happy yellow.

The same pattern, recreated in a stencil, repeated
on the floor.

Ceiling fans purchased on
sale. (This one is in a bedroom.)
These little home staging
changes, along with green plants inside and colorful
flowers outside, helped bring in multiple offers. The
home sold for more than any other had previously sold
for on the street!
